Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha arrest warrants issued
The Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha saga continues.
Arrest Warrants have been issued against gqom queen Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane and her lover Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo after the pair failed to appear in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
The two have been in the spotlight numerous times following domestic violence claims and charges, which is why they were set to appear in court.
In March, Babes posted a harrowing video of her being beaten by Mampintsha in a hotel room, for which she laid an assault charge against him.
Mampintsha was granted R2000 bail and ordered to have no contact with Babes…Which has never worked. No matter how volatile their relationship is, they always find their way back to each other.
Court is in rejection
The court heard that both Babes and Mampintsha had agreed to intervention from FAMSA, an organisation that provides counselling, education and training for South Africans with relationship issues.
The reason they have warrants of arrest against them is because the state has an outstanding item for the matter- the FAMSA report.
Mampintsha’s lawyer Pat Magwaza said he arrived late after he attempted to locate the couple.
“Unfortunately, I cannot find them. I was told they were at their home. I have not seen them or spoken to them. I cannot get hold of them,” he said.
Shakespeare said it best: “These violent delights have violent ends/ And in their triumph die, like fire and powder/ Which as they kiss consume.”
This is not the last of the Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha saga, and sadly so.
