An Avicii video game is in the works
The Avicii video game will raise money for mental health.
Titled AVICII Invector, the video game celebrates his life and work and will be launched across multiple platforms with its release slated for the upcoming US winter.
The game will see players embark on an intergalactic journey as they try to hit notes as they race through various landscapes. It will feature 25 of tracks, including hits like ‘Levels,’ ‘Without You,’ and ‘Lay Me Down.’ Invector will come with solo and multiplayer options as well as the choice between three difficulty levels.
Avicii himself worked with Hello There Games on the initial version of the product, which launched on PS4 back in 2017. This version of the game, however, will be made available on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Game for a valiant cause
It’s not just fun and games, it’s for a good cause too. 25% of the profits from the game sales will go to the Tim Bergling Foundation, the charity set up by his parents to support those working within mental health and suicide prevention.
“AVICII Invector celebrates Avicii’s life and music by immersing players inside the pulsing rhythms, evocative lyrics, and beautiful melodies he created,” says Leo Zullo, Managing Director of Wired Productions, the game’s publishing partner. “He was an amazing talent, and as an advocate for mental health, I hope and believe this project will bring Tim Bergling’s wonderful spirit to a world that can benefit from it.”
