Astrix India tour cancelled due to alleged shady booking agency dealings
The Astrix India tour is unfortunately cancelled.
Astrix is undoubtedly one of the biggest, if not the biggest name in Psy-trance. His tracks are dance-floor bombs and his music can move people to tears.
Even more special than his music is watching him play his own tracks live. No one has such dance floor control, having each dancer immersed and hypnotised in the music.
Having Astrix play at your festival is a pretty big deal, which is why his management is sad to say that his upcoming tour in India has been cancelled due to ugly industry politics.
In a recent lengthy post made by Astrix management, they delve into details of misconduct stemming from Orb Productions and Bookings.
Where’s the PLUR?
According to the post, it had recently come to their attention “that Orb has been charging for gigs for Astrix almost triple the amount we were aware of. “
An argument that a few people on the comment thread made is basically that the music industry is cut-throat, and everyone needs to make money.
While that may be true, there are ways to go about it without destroying integrity.
Furthermore, it also came to management’s attention that Orb was “working with no contracts or written agreements.”
They go on to say, “Even when Avi reluctantly agreed to a deal presented by Orb in the last few days, just to be able to make this tour happen and leave this situation behind, we now find that Orb has been accusing Astrix in extorting these exorbitant fees (we have recordings of all the exchanges since we realized what is happening).”
Interestingly the event’s in India posted on Orb’s Facebook page still advertises Astrix on the line-ups.
It’s sad that the Astrix India tour is cancelled, but it’s important to stand up against wrongdoings: Read the full post below.
