Aphex Twin launches online record shop of entire archive
Aphex Twin is one of the weirdest and most wonderful innovators in electronic music.
Now, he has something beautiful and thoughtful to offer fans. He has updated his website to include a digital archive of ALL his work, released and unreleased, for his fans to buy.
Bear in mind, Richard D. James has a career that spans decades and has made a massive amount of music spanning from Aphex to his other aliases including AFX, Polygon Window, GAK and The Tuss.
His full catalogue finds its home on the website, allowing fans to buy vinyl reissues of classic albums, unreleased tracks, digital albums and pristine rare releases.
Though there is already a large amount of music available, there will no doubt be more music added as time goes by.
What a Field Day
James burst back onto the performance scene when he played at this year’s Field Day music festival at Victoria Park.
In true Aphex fashion, his set exceeded fans expectations and weirdness that is synonymous with the artist.
His out of place, sporadic mixing provided scattered music harsh on the ears yet was comforting and somewhat elegant. The visuals were also classic with the disfigured faces of politicians on screens along with his grinning
face.
After 15 minutes of ‘discomfort’ it started coming together smoothly and the crowd, packed to the rafters lulled in a dance of unison. This was no doubt a most special experience for fans of this revered pioneer in electronic music.
Aphex Twin is back in full force, check out his website here.
