The Amazon music streaming platform
The Amazon music streaming platform is the latest to enter the market for subscribers. Amazon is a giant online retailer that sells just about anything and ships worldwide.
Rumours were making the rounds about Amazon music streaming becoming a reality. Now, it seems that the retailer will become a contender for a slice of the streaming pie.
The Amazon music streaming service will be known as Amazon Music Unlimited. If you have Amazon Prime which is the paid premium option, then you already have access to a wide collection of music.
Tens of millions of songs’
There are approximately two million tracks in the existing collection. However, on Amazon Music Limited you are promised a music list that is made up of “tens of millions” of songs.
You will have access to this wide variety of music just as long as you subscribe to their new streaming service. To sign up you will have to pay $7.99 per month or $79 for a year, as an Amazon Prime member.
If you aren’t an Amazon Prime member then the subscription will cost you $9.99 per month. Also, if you have the Amazon Echo device then you get the best price of only $3.99 per month for one device.
It is interesting to see who, and how many companies have taken off head first in the race for streaming market dominance.
Amazon Prime is a paid addition to Amazon which costs $99 per year. The platform hopes that people will see the music offered with Prime as the “introductory service” and allow Music Unlimited to be the full service.
Amazon Music Unlimited has launched in the United States of America on the 12th of October. It will later roll out to countries such as Germany, Austria, and also the United Kingdom.
