All Elements Jam presented by Prophets of Da City will take place on the 29th of March 2015 at Club Fever in Lansdowne from 2 PM to 6 PM.
The final performance will be delivered by Prophets of Da City themselves after their appearance at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF).
Other local artists on the line up for the All Elements Jam includes Youngsta, Hemelbesem, Driemanskap, Burni Aman, Ill Skillz, EJ von Lyrik, Teba Shumba, Crosby Bolani and Isaac Mutant, Beatbangaz on the decks supported by DJ’s Raiko, Killa B and C4.
Free workshops will be made available between 2 PM and 4 PM and will include mc, break dance and DJ demonstrations. Other activities include extreme biking exhibitions by Fly Wheel Custom Chariots and the A-Team BMX Squad with showcases by the Drift Squad Exhibition Team. This is of course within the keeping of the hip hop tradition that focuses on building and uplifting people within the scene.
The All Elements Jam event is poised to serve as a thrilling day of music and culture. As a show of good will, all proceeds will be donated to the Saartjie Baartman’s Women and Children’s shelter.
The following is a list of all the members of Prophets of Da City:
POC Members DJ Ready D, Shaheen Ariefdien (mc), Jazzmo (beatboxer), Ram1 (dancer), Ishmael Morabe (vocalist), Gogga (graf artist), Junior Dread (ragga mc) and late member Mark Heuwel R.I.P (bboy) founded the crew in 1988 and released the very first South African hip hop album, Our World in 1990. This was followed with five more releases between 1992 and 1997.
This year, Prophets of Da City celebrates twenty five years since the historic release of Our World and are getting together for a reunion show at the CTIJF, adapting their repertoire for the new generation.
All Elements Jam tickets are R40 at the door for the live show while the workshops are free.
