Miguel Migs has always stood at the forefront of electronic music’s soulful realm. His original productions or remixes have always had more than a tinge of an organic-soulful sound by combining the best of both the electronic music world and live instrumentation.
He impresses this time around with a Dub and Dancehall infused remix package of one of his stand out tracks ‘The System’ featuring dancehall legend Capleton. This is taken from his achingly trendy and deliciously groovy album ‘Outside The Skyline’.
Unsurprisingly, the package has a choice of well crafted, quality tracks to choose from. He enlists dub legend Mad Professor who serves two remixes; a vocal and dub version that binds all the necessary Jamaican rhythms all too well.

Next are the remixes filled with the musical presence and maturity of the Thievery Corporation duo [Rob Garza & Rob Payne] – although Garza’s remix out of the two tickles my groove bone. It teases with a synth progression and atmospheric layers that converts to a housey like tune, very cool indeed.
A stunner out of the package come from Miguel’s trademark blend of musicality with cutting edge electronic productions. He brings it under his infamous alias Petalpusher of his deep/funky Salted Music groove. It’s an exciting combination funkiness and a good vibe that bounds along with a cheerful and effortless gait for a perfect party starter tune. It’s the one for the collection!
