AKA refuses to play despite being paid.
Kiernan Forbes AKA fan-ditcher McFlakey.
Forbes was booked to perform at the Mzansi Hip Hop Festival in Kempton Park.
He was paid R200 000 in fees, but when he got there he sat in his car and then left an hour later.
His reason: There weren’t enough people there.
Who cares about the die-hard fans that stood in the cold, waiting for their idol to perform.
Apparently in his contract it states that “he gets to keep 100% of his remuneration without rendering services if a crowd is too small.”
Fellow artists Kwesta and Cassper Nyovest were paid their full fees and then funnily enough performed the gig. Wow!
AKA rearranged spells….
Musician Ntukza addressed the issue on Twitter saying that it is wrong of him to ditch a sold-out concert after being paid.
Forbes disputed this, saying he had images proving there were no more than 500 people at the event.
There wasn’t enough people for me to perform. 500 minimum. It’s in my contract. 👌🏽 https://t.co/ss3pFQapqX

He got quite the backlash from fans on his Twitter page, and reasonably so.
He then tried to back-peddle by saying he arranged with the organisers to come back and perform at their next event, no extra charge, if they are able to fill the venue with 500 people.
He never got the call back, which shocked the rapper.
His argument is that people associate an event with his name, so when the numbers are ‘dismal’ it reflects negatively on his stardom.
Some fans are obviously dismayed, while others support him.
He has undoubtedly lost major respect AKA fans.
