Winter set to “fall” with Jus Nativ Records latest release
If the undeniable rays of sunshine bursting through their latest release titled “Happy Souls” are anything to go by, Jus Nativ Records have indeed heeded all the #WinterMustFall calls.
We want to accommodate all of our followers so we will have a lot of commercial radio House Music tracks, but we will still release good Soulful House [on Jus Nativ records]”
This bouncy upbeat track was written and produced by Jnr SA, a recent signing to the label.
“Happy Souls” also features the appropriately carefree sounding vocals of one GeeSoul.
The sing-along jam calls on “happy souls” across the world to join in merriment and a spontaneous appreciation of life.
A thumping bassline and simple but catchy melody will definitely conjure up pictures of sunny skies, booming car radios, braais and the kind of happiness typically found during silly season.

While an official release is scheduled for a future online release on the Traxsource and iTunes platforms, listeners can download for free a promotional copy on the Jus Nativ Records Facebook page here.
Jus Nativ, a DJ/Producer and the head of the label carrying his name, concurs that the most obvious move would have been to drop such a single at the beginning of the year or later on when summer arrives.
He however goes on to explain why the label decided to buck the common trend.
“The moment I heard “Happy Souls” I knew it was the single we’ve been waiting for [to release on Jus Nativ records.]
“I was blown away by Jnr SA’s versatility as a producer since the track is suitable for both the dance floor and radio,” the label boss says.
Jus Nativ, who mastered the track, goes on to say the current timing of the release also serves as a perfect introduction for listeners to the talents of Jnr SA.
“We decided to release the single now to in order to familiarise the market with Jnr SA.,” he says.
The “appetizer” track is doing well as evidenced by its climb up the YFM #Hot99Dance Charts where it is currently perched on the number five spot.
More to come…
After tantalising the market’s taste buds, more Jnr SA fare is set be dished up on Jus Nativ records.
“We are planning another Jnr SA release in summer as people will already know him and are more likely to embrace a follow-up single,” says Jus Nativ.
Things are indeed looking up for Jnr SA, real name Lesego Junior Nkooe.
“Happy Souls” has seen him being nominated for Best Music Producer and Best Club DJ for the Platinum Youth Entertainment Awards which will be held in his hometown of Rustenburg.
“We have billions of happy souls ready to jam so I went for a track that can be a club banger and radio hit,” Jnr SA says of the inspiration behind the track.
He concedes that when he entered the studio he knew the stakes to deliver a big record were high.
This pressure came on the back of his label boss’s successful 2015 release of the hugely popular “Undiphuza” single.
Interestingly Jnr SA has also done a soon to be released remix of “Undiphuza” which he promises will be “super hot”.
“I did feel the pressure after hearing Nativ’s hit “Undiphuza” because I knew he expected me to do better.
“I then roped in my very talented friend GeeSoul and we came up with Happy Souls,” an excited Jnr SA says.
Collaborating with GeeSoul
GeeSoul, real name Gomolemo Sefotlhole, is a multi-genre vocalist from Mafikeng, whom Jnr SA discovered last year when she was part of acapella group called “Music out loud” (M.O.L).
Jnr SA counts his working relationship with the respected Jus Nativ as the highlight of his career to date, as prior to it he had struggled to find a home for his music.
“Working with Jus Nativ and him accepting me as one of his own has been the biggest thing that has ever happened not only in my career but in my life,” an emotional Jnr SA says.
The upcoming DJ/Producer also counts no less than the Drumboss Heavy K as another of his mentors.
Happy Souls is the fifth release from the growing Jus Nativ Records label.
Other releases from the label include singles by MeloFarai, a soulful song-bird as well as Relevant Soul, a DJ/Producer who specialises in Deep and Soulful House.
Caras a four-member Afro/Soulful House band and DJ BS.Com make up the other two acts on the label.
“We want to accommodate all of our followers so we will have a lot of commercial radio House Music tracks, but we will still release good Soulful House,” promises label boss Jus Nativ.
Towards this end he says that they will be releasing in late July a new EP called “Jus Nativ Records – Lifestyle EP [Various Artists]”.
This EP will be an official introduction of all their artists.
House heads will also be overjoyed to hear that Jus Nativ will also put out two other singles with one featuring Rachel of “Undiphuza” fame.
