His trademark ‘big room’ sound is the perfect mix as part of the Space Ibiza SA Tour event which takes place in Johannesburg on 29 November 2014. Wow Danny, you sure love South Africa or should we say, South Africa must sure love you! we look forward to welcoming you back! We haven’t seen you since you brought in the New Year with us at the Ibiza Calling NYE party in Cape Town. How have you been?

5 Minutes with Danny Marquez: Yeah long time… I can’t wait to comeback to South Africa! It was a very good and a different year so far… Too early to talk about it, but many interesting things are coming. I can’t wait to share it!

Having been in South Africa more than once, is there anything specific on your personal to do list when you visit us again this month?

5 Minutes with Danny Marquez: I would love to go on safari again and surf a bit.

It seems you will be joining us as the Ibiza season dust settles in your home country of Spain. As a celebrated house maker and a frequent flyer to SA, where do you see SA house music going in the long run?

5 Minutes with Danny Marquez: SA has been in the right place with Soulful and Deep house music for years now and also with EDM as well, so I think it is going with the flow quite nicely.

If Beatport’s latest stats on top-selling genres are anything to go by, everyone is betting on anything with house in the title. With the passing of Frankie Knuckles (RIP) who do you think is the next big house hero?
