Novation Launchpad iOS gets Ninja Tunes Remix packs
The Novation Launchpad iOS app is a cool little music making program for your iPhone or iPad to have some fun creating instant music.
You can combine beats, basslines, melodies, vocals and FX loops.
It’s free but of course the snag is that to really have fun with it, you need to buy the sample packs since the concept for the Novation Launchpad iOS is to trigger the pads and build your loops of music from the sound library.
The Novation Launchpad iOS app is really easy to use and the pads are automatically synchronised to the beat which is always locked in. If it all sounds a little too generic there are DJ style FX and the option to import your own sounds (iPad version) to give one the tools to create unique arrangements.
You do get two free sample packs with the app so even from the get-go you can have some free fun, but trust us, after a while you’ll be indulging yourself with the in-app purchase of one of the other packs available. Each pack will costs around R 30 so it’s not a lot of dosh.
New to the Novation Launchpad iOS app though is the sound packs announced from Ninja Tunes. There have been a few complaints about the quality of some of the existing packs so this will surely please exiting users.
These sound packs will give Novation Launchpad iOS users the chance to remix tracks from the Ninja Tunes catalogue.
The first packs are offering ‘Gunshotta’ by Machinedrum taken from his 2013 album Vapor City, and Lapalux’s ‘Moments’ from 2012’s When You’re Gone EP.
It’s a small step, but hey, it’s definitely one in the right direction as Novation has promised that there will be more Ninja Tune artist packs coming soon in an ongoing series of releases.
Grab the Novation Launchpad iOS app for free free from the App Store, and check out the sample packs too [£1.49 / R 30,50)
Ninja Tunes also have their own app released in 2012 called Ninja Jamm which is now available for Android as well as iOS.
