DJM-750MK2 is an ‘affordable’ club mixer says Pioneer DJ
The DJM-750MK2 is the latest piece of tech announced by Pioneer DJ and it is a 4-channel Dj mixer.
Pioneer DJ are aiming this new mixer at home users saying that it is the ideal unit to practice on at home before heading off to the gig.
We wonder if they are going to launch an ‘affordable’ CDJ media player.
Yes there are the CDJ 350’s but the biggest problem DJs have is that most events use either a CDJ900, CDJ2000 or occasionally the XDJ-1000, all of which have the bigger, better screen.
The CDJ-350 isn’t really that appealing if you want to be comfortable with the aforementioned at gig.
Now that Denon have launched their PRIME series range which is about a third cheaper than the Pioneer top of the range gear, the DJs are the ones that will benefit with gear hopefully becoming cheaper.
Under the hood
The new DJM-750MK2 does look pretty awesome though.
Aside from a bevy of cool effects – as one would expect from Pioneer DJ – it sports 4 channels, a built-in audio interface and all the standard pro functions.
The audio interface is a biggie as this means one can seamlessly connect your laptop for DJing and of course their proprietary rekordbox DJ software will just plug and play.
There are Sound Colour FX per channel, a Magvel crossfader and even a USB port to add iOS FX apps to the signal path. One can actually effect individual bands such as low, mid and hi separately from the main Beat FX section which is really effective.
The DJM-750MK2 can be used as an eight-channel soundcard and you get rekordbox DJ and rekordbox DVS licenses in the box so this really is a good way for laptop DJs to get the best of both worlds.
Did we say affordable?
Well the DJM-750MK2 is almost half the price of a DJM900NXS2 which is around R 40k in South Africa. The DJM-750MK2 will cost $1,199/£1,069 which we estimate will put it at about R 22k.
Aside from the DJM-750MK2, Pioneer Dj also announced their Interface 2 Rekordbox DJ DVS Soundcard last month.
