Zahara plans to diversify her portfolio beyond music
Unlike international celebrities expanding to perfume and clothing, South African Zahara plans to venture into taxi, meat and loaning industries.
I mean perfume and clothing are done to death, why not put your celebrity face to thriving businesses, which in South Africa is no doubt meat, taxi and loaning.
Though fans of the hit-maker shouldn’t fear, for she is not abandoning music. In contrary, she is set to release a new album in September.
This came after she signed a deal over distribution with Warner Music. The star did reveal to local media that after her album is launched, she will focus on these new business ventures.
She is set to open a butchery, break into the taxi industry and get into a money loaning venture with her sister, Bandezwa. The company will be named “BeeZee.”
Balancing the 2 ventures of music and business can be a frantic task, so her sister Bandweza will manage their company whilst the singer focuses on the music aspect.
Though the industries she is planning to get into aren’t so easy peasy in terms of the mafio-like style they are usually run, she is confident to succeed.
No one is blind to the taxi battles that ensue on a daily basis, where there are wars over routes and drivers often get into altercations that lead to hundreds of deaths and injuries per year.
She told a local publication that she has “á family member who is involved in taxis and knows all the details of the industry.” She plans to get in on the action “before the November-December transport rush when people go home,” the star said.
The ‘Loliwe” hit-maker also said she wasn’t impressed with the current interest rates upheld by informal money lenders and that she wants to “change the way people lend money.”
Zahara has a lot on her plate, but we wish her safety and success.
