Joseph Capriati delivers 25-hour DJ set
Joseph Capriati delivers 25-hour DJ set, breaking previous records.
Italian Techno DJ Joseph Capriati planned to play a marathon set at Heart Nightclub in Miami- little did he know how mammoth his marathon would end up being.
Capriati, who is one of the key artists on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode label started playing his set on Saturday 18 November and ended his set late Sunday night- clocking in an impressive 25 consecutive hours.
This mammoth set is impressive just by its nature, but we all know that breaking records also lends an accomplished feeling.
Capriati broke the record set by fellow Italian and friend Marco Carola, who delivered a 24-hour set at Sunwaves Festival in Romania in 2015.
A drop in the ocean
After the 17 hour mark, Heart Miami realised what magic was taking place and took to social media, inviting people to come and be a part of this momentous occasion and join the celebration for free.
Joseph Capriati, who started his own techno project Redimension last year, admits that his Heart set was a personal record and that “you simply cannot plan ahead,” he divulged on Twitter.

Well Miami, I came with the intention of a marathon set at Heart club last night, but I never expected to end playing for 25 HOURS and 30 minuets! That’s the longest set ever of my life, and would be difficult to repeat it as you can’t plan that, it just happens. Thank you

Not to detract from the impressive set-length Capriati obtained, but there have been longer sets:
Most notably Guinness World Record breaker DJ Colossus from the USA who DJ’d for 232hours and 58 minutes.
Colossus beat Nigerian DJ Obi, who DJ’d for 229 hours and 58 minutes, just one year earlier.
