Fill Up The Dome – Cassper Nyovest: Black Coffee to perform
The Sowetan says Black Coffee has been added to the lineup to perform at Cassper Nyovest’s Fill Up The Dome show.
Fill Up the Dome is the hip hop artist’s quest to fill the Ticketpro Dome (previously known as the Coca Cola Dome) in Northgate which can hold 20,000 fans.
When Cassper Nyovest first announced his desire to fill up the dome, detractors immediately thought he was overestimating his popularity and of course we know how SA rappers like to have a go at each other on Twitter.
Nyovest soon set the record straight though by saying that he is not expecting to attract 20,000 fans just for him to perform and has reached out to top South African acts to become a part of his dream to Fill Up the Dome by performing too.
He was quoted in the Sowetan as saying…
“This is in no way me trying to be egotistic or me trying to be selfish with the platform. I know that I’ve got an idea and if any South African act who matters at this time wants to help me or wants to be the supporting act, I would gladly appreciated that.”
He also revealed to the Sowetan that Black Coffee has agreed to perform on the night.
“Black Coffee has already reached out to me saying that he would love to come perform on the night.”
Black Coffee vs. AKA ‘Twar’
This is an interesting, if not predictable turn of events, considering the Twitter fight Black Coffee had with Nyovest’s favourite foe, AKA last weekend, when the house DJ had a dig at SA rappers, which AKA deemed to be aimed at him personally.
The ‘Twar,’ as these Twitter arguments are known, was quite a divisive thing with most hip hop fans backing AKA despite his well documented arrogance, and of course, the dance music faithful claiming that ‘Black Coffee owned AKA’ on the day.
The reality is both their egos were raging on the day, even if Coffee’s manner was more understated, it was amusing for a short while but silly in the end.

Go check it out on their Twitter pages. We did not report about it because we thought it was a little childish.
To Fill up the Dome will not be easy and Nyovest has taken to posting images on social media to show people that will this be no mean feat to achieve.
The Fill up the Dome show is billed to take place on 31 October.
The tickets are expected to cost R200 for general and R320 for golden circle, and should go on sale on August 1.
