True to Africa
Africa is a vast and hugely diverse continent in all aspects from geography, culture and politics, and naturally-music.
The African continent is host to a plethora of music styles, including gqom, Nairobi nu wave and eclectic afro-fusion.
True Music Africa aims to expose the artists who have been making waves in each style through compelling documentaries and live-streamed parties, taking Africa’s True Music scene to a global stage.
The tour will culminate in Johannesburg in July with the True Music Forum, a space where the international music community can come together to learn, exchange and expand new ideas through panel discussions and workshops.
True Music Africa follows in the same footsteps as recent global True Music projects headlined by Maya Jane Coles and Seth Troxler.
The project will be the first time Boiler Room is taking their signature broadcast events to Cameroon and Kenya.
