The Sound of Music and its healing force
In this day and age we as the human race have advanced to a higher level in our consciousness, from technological advances, spiritual awareness and connection to the body, yet we still have a long journey of discovery to go. Something that has been on my mind recently is healing with sound and I thought about what music does for us in our lives.
I think that the one thing that links us all together is music and sound and in my world psytrance is where I feel the dancefloor is the one place we all understand each other even though we speak different languages.
On a global scale manufactured pop music leaves less to be desired and it is quite a concern as it shows the level of global consciousness and media control, but that’s another topic for another time.
Music in my opinion is a form of mood elevator or enhancer and certain notes, keys and harmonies can touch our emotions, from romantic ballads or symphonic orchestras leaving the listener in tears or that fun pop song that you sing in the car or dance in your kitchen to, leaving the listener in a happy joyful mood.
Or how about some rock or metal music? The energy generated from the combined musicians in that style of music is powerful. For me I am totally bias because I mainly enjoy the psychedelic world of psytrance, ambient and dub music, as I enjoy the flow and drive behind it.
This style of music, in my opinion, holds similarity to classical music because the story is open to the listener’s perception and not driven by lyrics; thus creating a world of beautiful sounds coming together creating energy all around us in layers.
Sound and emotion
On the subject of sound and emotion, one idea comes to my mind and that is Dr Emoto’s water experiment where he documented how water reacts to thoughts and music using photography. Through incredible findings he has created a new concept in healing with sound and thought as adult human beings are made up of 60% of water. It is scientific that we can heal ourselves and generate peace and hopefully do this on a global scale and connect to Gaia. If the concept is to change the frequency in water using this method then surely we can change the water inside of us?

This leads me to think about Cymatics and the science behind making sound visible. This concept dates back as far as the renaissance area and has been an ongoing study. I think there is so much beauty in these images and videos; to actually see sound and that it is alive and energized.
In our psytrance culture the majority of the art and imagery derives from sacred geometry as well as the beautiful and natural Cymatic geometry that is created into art. I personally believe in the study and ancient science behind sound and frequency (some say the pyramids were built using sound frequencies.)
I am no scientist and half the time I don’t really know too much about any of it, but I gather my thoughts about life and the universe from what makes sense to me and I truly believe that there is a massive connection between sound, frequency, sacred geometry and our ancient past and earth’s galactic history.
Watch sound come alive – experiment of sound and frequency
If we look at all sciences and studies, healing our bodies and minds through sound and music shouldn’t be too foreign for us.
I wonder why we don’t open our minds to more information about this concept – as I think we are on the tip to a larger discovery of ourselves through music and sound healing.
It is rather overwhelming the amount of information that is out there, from binaural beats and pure tone healing, DNA repair, Reiki healing and I’m sure there is so much more. I for one find it quite fascinating. I also feel that these concepts marry very well in our psychedelic music and festival culture.
Here we are gathering in nature with monster sound systems and music designed to astral travel to and delve into our own cosmos and through that become universal.
It has no boundaries and intentionally fills your soul with energy which we derive through dancing and trancing.
